Dr. Vlad Koyfman

A Letter from Dr. Young:

Dr.Koyfman is an ocular disease residency trained Optometrist, who focuses on promoting good eye health and body fitness with educational knowledge during your eye exam experience.

Dr. Koyfman graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2009 with degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics. Afterwards, he went on to get his masters in Drug Discovery and Design where he graduated top of his class and with distinction in 2010. In 2016, Dr. Koyfman graduated from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, School of Optometry, with honors and was valedictorian.

During his time in Optometry school, Dr. Koyfman focused on helping his classmates and other students succeed in class and board exams by providing his time as an educational tutor and clinical assistant for opening and practicing in clinical settings. In 2015, Dr. Koyfman spent 6 months as an intern at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida where he learned to manage and treat a variety of the rarest eye conditions.

After Optometry school, Dr. Koyfman worked in private practice for 6 years, where 1 year was dedicated to an ocular disease residency in Dallas, Texas. At the Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas, Dr. Koyfman fine-tuned his ability to detect and treat many intra-ocular and peri-ocular disease, including all various stages and variations of glaucoma, proper time management of diabetic patients, cataract post and pre-operative care, refractive surgeries, corneal abnormalities and disease.

After residency, Dr. Koyfman stayed in Dallas, where he met his wife and also was given and took an opportunity to be an educational clinical professor at the Cedar Springs Eye Clinic, where he focused on helping students from the University of Houston and School of Incarnate Word develop their Optometry real life skills. Aside from practicing Optometry, Dr. Koyfman loves to teach. He always takes the time to explain the eyes and ways to promote better body health.

I will be staying on part time to help with the transition. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Please join me in welcoming Dr Koyfman and the rest of his Dr. EyeFit staff.

Wishing all of my patients and Dr. Koyfman all the best,

Dr. Joseph Young O.D
